About the School
Middlesex School in Concord, MA is a smaller boarding school with strong academics, arts and sports. Unlike many boarding schools, which offer some flexibility in terms of afternoon activities, Middlesex students are required to play three sports. This doesn’t mean you need to be the next Olympic hopeful, but it does mean you need to be open to getting involved in team sports and trying new things.
Unique Features
There are also 4 required art courses, which also helps encourage students who don’t see art as their strength to explore this area in depth. They are also in the process of building a new arts and music center, so that will be a nice addition to their existing facilities. Another thing that stands out about Middlesex is their strong writing program. In addition to taking 10th grade English, all 10th graders also take a writing seminar, and in order to pass, they need to get approval from the head of the English department.
The campus is organized in a circular fashion, with many buildings forming the circle. Students are invited to “Find your promise” at Middlesex, a great mission to ask of high school students
