University of Denver

University of Denver is an attractive campus in the capital of Colorado, with over 30 buildings constructed in the last 15 years – they have really been investing in their campus. In the past known more as a regional university, UDenver has been expanding and growing in reputation; only 33% of students are from Colorado, with nearly 10% international students, so they are quite geographically diverse. While walking around campus, the students looked happy and engaged.

UDenver has a very strong School of International Studies, where Madeline Albright and Condoleezza Rice, among others, earned their degrees. Other popular majors include biology, psychology, finance, and accounting (their Daniels College of Business allows students to enter after their first year, so you don’t need to decide when you are applying whether you want to study in the business school).

Other key strengths of the university are the small class size (average of 21 students, with 96% having fewer than 50 students), and strong academic and learning resources for students who require them. They also boast that over 70% of students study abroad, and they have strong merit scholarships (which are open to international students). Since students are required to live on campus their first two years, there is a strong sense of community on campus, and lots of activities and events going on around campus.

UDenver could be a great fit for a student who wants to study at a medium-sized school in or near a city who wants to be active, involved, and part of a school with a sense of community.
